description
Crème de marrons is a French specialty made from sweet chestnuts.
It is a kind of jam due to the addition of sugar, which we lovingly create by hand, not adding unnecessary and superfluous substances. Only ripe chestnuts, sugar and water, that's all the original Crème de marrons needs. So you get a pure natural product of the highest quality.
Chestnut puree is very popular in Italy and France, especially a classic side dish to meat dishes. especially to game as a garnish as in Germany wild cranberries or as a stuffing to poultry such as duck, goose or turkey or as a breading for poultry cutlets...
But the most popular is crème de marrons with desserts. Either eaten plain, as a spread, mixed with cottage cheese, yogurt or cream cheese, or spread thinly on pancakes and crepes.
Refine cakes, pies, pastries, puddings or ice cream desserts.
However, the most famous with crème de marrons is the dessert Mont Blanc.
The crème de marrons is served plain or with whipped cream folded in to form a cone shape on the plate and crème fraîche is placed on top, so that the dessert is visually reminiscent of the mountain of the same name.
In our cute 50g jam jar with fluting, which makes the jar particularly good in the hand. As a tasting jar but also as a small gift always welcome.
