description
Our tzatziki seasoning salt with fine herbs.
Tzatziki is a classic appetizer from Greek cuisine. Tzatziki is made from Greek yoghurt, which is somewhat firmer than normal plain yoghurt, and is refined with olive oil, cucumber and garlic as well as various spices.
Tzatziki is served with hot and cold starters with pita bread, but tzatziki is also used as a filling for the classic gyros roll or served with souvlaki.
Turkish cazik, Bulgarian tarator and Persian mast o khiar are similar to tzatziki. Even in India there is a type of tzatziki known as kheere ka raita,
Tzatziki is now available in supermarkets all over the world, but these industrial products often contain starch, thickeners, milk protein or other fats and oils that have nothing to do with the original recipe.
So you can make your own tzatziki with very little effort.
Our tzatziki seasoning salt, finely balanced with harmonizing spices, is perfect for making your own tzatziki. Cut the cucumbers into small pieces and stir them into the Greek yoghurt. The moisture in the cucumber will make the yoghurt a little runnier. Then stir in a dash of olive oil and season to taste with our tzatziki seasoning salt. If you don't have Greek yoghurt, use quark, otherwise the tzatziki will be too runny.
Our tip: Use our tzatziki seasoning salt for a Greek salad of tomatoes, cucumber, mild pepperoni, black olives, feta cheese, peppers and red onions. Add olive oil and a dash of lemon or lime juice.
Hand-filled in our elegant aroma bag with viewing window and practical clip closure.
